Katelyn & Tyler's Wedding Day in Napoleon North Dakota
Katelyn & Tyler got married in Napoleon North Dakota October 1st of 2022. This was Gavin and I's first wedding together as a duo which was SO EXCITING! Tyler & Kate are actually dear friends of ours and have a love this is so evident! They got married in Kate's childhood church surrounded by their closest friends and family! Getting Ready
Kate & her best friends went to a salon to get their hair and makeup done! She finished getting ready at the church with her mother and maid of honor. Her church was filled with beautiful natural light and her dress hanging photo was one of my favorites to this day! The crystal statue included with her dress photo was a family heirloom that was so special to capture! Katelyn in her wedding dress was SO BEAUTIFUL!
First Look
Katelyn & Tyler Schmaltz
We did Katelyn & Tyler's first look outside their church. It was extremely sweet and intimate! Kate's Veil and gorgeous dress made for some beautiful and dramatic photos!
Tyler & Katelyn's Couple Session
This couple portrait session was so much fun! We spent about an hour doing photos at a local park and outside of the church! We often do a mixture of fun movement poses as well as classic portraits to give multiple options! Again Kate's amazing veil made for so many gorgeous photos! Katelyn made all her own bouquets and the florals matched the season perfectly!

St Philip neri Catholic Church
Ceremony
Katelyn & Tyler had a catholic ceremony at St Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon ND. Their priest did a phenomenal job of creating real moments of love between the two and the church was absolutely gorgeous! The photos not only turned out beautiful but the ceremony in their video as well was gorgeous!
Wedding Reception Details
Kate & Tyler's reception was SO PRETTY! Katelyn and her family made all the decor themselves and did absolutely amazing! There were candles, greenery, and beautiful greens to match her bridesmaid dresses! If you look at the third photo you can see the amazing design they created on the ceiling with the lights! I have never seen a dance floor that looked cooler than the lights made this one look! If you're looking for a wedding with beautiful personal touches this is one to look for inspiration!
Golden Hour
One of my absolute favorite parts of the day! We drove down to the lake and saw one of the best sunsets I have ever seen! The best part was a couple was fishing as we arrived, caught a fish and we actually got to take a photo with it! It was a hilarious moment that I will always remember! Golden hour is one of the best opportunities to get photos when you are most relaxed! Even if your sunset isn't amazing it's still a great idea to get away from your reception for 10-15 minutes and enjoy uninterrupted time together!
Wedding Film
Lastly we have Tyler and Kate's wedding film! To this day probably my favorite Gavin has ever created! If you love a good transition make sure to watch until the end! It was seriously a beautiful day and we can't thank Tyler & Kate enough for letting us capture it!
